Are Scottish Folds good with children?

Содержание

Families with children are the ones in many cases to take cats. When a child communicates, consults with a cat on an equal footing, the animal may be a friend at the same time because the loyalty of animals is unconditional, they will not betray or deceive in any case. A Scottish Fold can become a companion in games, will actively "help" do homework, watch TV, have dinner, etc., or, to some extent, replace the brother or sister that your baby really wants, and then all the love will transfer to a small animal, which you will one day bring into the house.

Why should this breed be chosen?

Therefore, the choice of the breed, in this case, is very important. Why do we recommend Scottish Folds? The answer is simple, the breed is intended for family keeping, preferably in families with children. And this is not surprising because Scottish Folds are extremely affectionate and friendly. They get along well with children and other pets. Thanks to their intelligence, Scottish Folds unmistakably determine what mood the owner is in today. Is it ok to play or is it better to sit on your knees and purr?

Scottish Folds will never offend or scratch any of the family members, and they will behave very patiently and carefully with children. The parents' task is only to explain to the baby how to communicate with the animal so as not to scare the kitten. A Scottish Fold can begin hissing and hiding only if he is frightened by someone or something. Therefore, we recommend not taking the pet out of the carrier at the first meeting but letting the cat look around and get out itself. Scottish Fold must trust you, then he will become the best friend to both you and your child.

Playing together helps kittens and children get used to interacting and listening to each other's feelings. Children know how to take care of a pet (how to feed it, play with it) in families where animals live; kids also believe the pets to be their friends. This helps children to become kinder, to be responsible for a living being, especially if they themselves participate in feeding and caring for the animal; they perceive it not as a burdensome duty, but as helping a friend.

If you ask me if there is a difference in taking a particular breed of cats for a flat and a house, I will answer for sure that there's no difference with respect to the Scottish Folds. A kitten and an adult cat will be equally comfortable both in a large room and in a limited area.

In return, you get the kitten's unconditional trust, its affection, purring, unforgettable tactile contact, which is very important for little members of the family. Your baby will quickly calm down and fall asleep next to a fluffy animal, and any problem will be solved faster if you do it together.

Recommendations

The only recommendation we give is to take the kitten into the house (if this is your first pet) no earlier than your child is 3 years of age; at this age, the baby is already aware of himself as a person and begins taking care of other family members, when they already understand a living creature to be different form toys which were bought in a shop. It is possible to reserve and buy a cat in Rostov in our cattery.

But by and large, age is not important, correct upbringing is vital because if your son or daughter screams, scares, chases after a kitten in order to catch it and put it on his lap, then nothing good will come of it. Scottish Folds are very self-sufficient, they respect others and want to have it in return.

We have no doubt that this breed won't disappoint you.
