Can a Scottish Fold become a companion and friend?

Содержание

Why do you doubt it? This is not a question, but a statement for us.Image - Scottish cat

The Scottish Fold can be confidently classified as a companion cat. The animal will gladly share both leisure and homework with its owner. If you need help with work on the computer, doing homework, cooking dinner, then the kitten will be near and assist you. The cat feels especially confident in the role of a taster of all dishes prepared in the kitchen. And sometimes the cat touches with its funny nose a plate to satisfy its curiosity.

Only a Scottish Fold can sit so calmly and comfortably next to the owner in quiet evenings while the owner is reading a book or watching TV. The tactfulness of the animal will not allow it to interrupt the morning sleep of his owner and the members of the family. Although we need to note one feature of the Scottish Folds; if you are used to getting up at the same time and feeding your pet, then this will become a habit not only for you but also for the kitten. Therefore, I advise you not to be surprised when on vacation or on weekends, the animal will wake you up 5 minutes before the alarm clock, and you want to sleep.

In our cattery, we teach kittens that while we sleep, they can sleep, play, but not wake us up; as soon as you start showing signs that you are waking up, instantly someone is nearby and waits for you to get up, or tries to wake you up by licking your hands. Our advice is to freeze and pretend to be sleeping further. It usually works.

Little Scottish Fold kittens are very funny; they walk very enthusiastically behind the owner, wagging their tail surprisingly cute, accompanying you everywhere like a dog. And they faithfully look into the eyes, like the Poos in Boots from the Shrek cartoon.

Who's the owner in the house?

A Scottish Fold usually chooses the owner itself: the cat sleeps, eats, plays with him, and helps with everything. And the owner of the cat isn't necessarily the one who chose it or was the initiator of the purchase.

But in any case, the cat will treat all family members with respect, play, and help everyone (who is interesting for the kitten). By and large, it is not they who live with us, but we who live with them. Therefore, if you decide to buy a Scottish Fold kitten, you need to give it the right to consider itself the rightful owner of the entire territory in advance.

Our graduates are often called friends, especially by children, and there is no wonder. Scottish Folds can replace a friend to some extent: they are very sociable, even talkative, they communicate with you in their own language, don't meow, but play trills like birds. They look at you with their expressive eyes and touch you with their paws when they want to be paid attention to. They never let their claws out when playing with people.

We can confirm our kittens, and especially adult Scottish Straights, to be real friends and even family members. Each has its own character, but they're so cute, smart, and well-mannered. They will never offend, betray, hold a grudge; they will simply step aside and stay alone. You need to see how their eyes are litten up when we admit our mistakes, stroke them, call by name (after all, each of them is a person), everything is instantly forgotten, and they are open again for communication.

In our opinion, there are no better companions and friends than Scottish Folds.
